Assessing Your MTSS Readiness

This workshop is designed to guide educators and school leaders through a comprehensive assessment of their readiness to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Participants will learn how to evaluate various aspects of their school or district's capacity to effectively implement MTSS practices, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and develop an action plan for successful implementation. By conducting a comprehensive assessment of MTSS readiness across key areas, districts and schools can identify strengths, areas for improvement, and priorities for action to support successful implementation of MTSS practices and improve outcomes for all students.

  • Understand the key components and principles of MTSS and its significance in supporting student success.
  • Learn about the essential elements of MTSS readiness assessment and why it is critical for successful implementation.
  • Explore tools and resources for assessing readiness across multiple domains, including leadership, professional development, data systems, collaboration, resource allocation, and equity.
  • Engage in hands-on activities and discussions to assess the readiness of their own school or district to implement MTSS practices.
  • Identify strengths, challenges, and areas for growth in MTSS readiness and develop an action plan for addressing identified needs.
  • Learn strategies for building buy-in, fostering collaboration, and sustaining MTSS implementation efforts over time.

About the Presenter

Dr. Christie Schutz Vincelli is an award-winning teacher, author, presenter, and school administrator with over 18 years of experience in Pre-K-12 education. She has served in many administrative capacities including Vice Principal, Supervisor, and Director of Special Services. Her areas of focus include MTSS/RTI, special education, research, and curriculum development. Dr. Schutz Vincelli was recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education as her district was named a model district for her implementation of the NJTSS framework.
